Peacefully at the Kings County Memorial Hospital, the passing of Freeman Whiteway age 89, of Murray River, devoted husband of 59 years to Elva Marie (MacDonald) Whiteway, occurred on Friday, August 28, 2015 with family by his side. Born October 1, 1925 he was the son of the late George and Caroline (MacLure) Whiteway. Freeman is survived by his loving daughters Sandra (Gus) Ogden, Jessie (Chris) Somers, cherished grandchildren Ashlyn, Cayden, Kyara, Amanda; step-grandson Chase; sisters Janie McHerron, Isabel MacKinnon; sisters-in-law Ruth Whiteway, Margo MacDonald; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Fred, Dave, Bobby; brothers-in-law Finley MacKinnon, Lewis McHerron and Wilson MacDonald

Resting at Ferguson Logan Montague Funeral Home, with visiting hours on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 from 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service to be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, September 2, at 1:00 pm. Interment to take place in the Murray River Cemetery. Donations to the Memorial United Church, Murray River or Kings County Memorial Hospital would be appreciated.
