In his 92nd year, passed peacefully with family by his side at the Atlantic Baptist Nursing Home in Charlottetown, PE on August 21, 2016.

Born June 6, 1925 in Glenfanning, PE, Irving was the son of the late Harold and Margaret (nee Rice) Roche. Irving will be forever loved and remembered by his sisters Lorraine MacMillan, Niagara-On-The-Lake, ON; Helena (Bernard) Columbus, Hamilton, ON; and Mary Theresa (Art) Lanigan, Stratford, PE.

Irving attended school in Glenfanning and as a young man began his career as a bricklayer. He was project manager with Maritime Bricklayers until his retirement. Much of the older brickwork still standing in Charlottetown was laid by Irving. The construction of the Marion Archway at the All Saints Catholic Church in Cardigan was one of his proudest accomplishments.

He will be missed by his nieces and nephew, who spent their childhood summers on the farm; Sandra (Fred) MacMillan-Peirce, Aspen, CO; Maureen MacMillan, Toronto, ON; Douglas (Erika) MacMillan, Houston, TX; Paula MacMillan, St. Catharines, ON; and special uncle to Michelle (Greg) Lanigan-McCormick, Stratford, PE.

Irving was predeceased by his brother Louis and brother-in-law Kaye MacMillan.

Arrangements entrusted to the care of Ferguson Logan Montague Funeral Home, where visitation will be held Friday, September 2, 2016 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated at All Saints Catholic Church in Cardigan, PE Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 10:30am Interment to follow in the parish cemetery.

By request, family flowers only. Donations in Irving’s memory may be made to the All Saints Parish Cemetery Fund, or a charity of your choice.
