At the Kings County Memorial Hospital with family by his side the passing of John David Mellish, age 57 of Montague, occurred on Tuesday August 23, 2016. Born in Montague, December 22, 1958 he was the son of the late Lloyd and Jessie (MacKinnon) Mellish. John is survived by his children Mike (Kerry) Mellish and Mitch Mellish; grandchildren Kaydence and Keeley Mellish; brothers and sisters Joan Sanderson, Verna (Everett) Garnhum, Lloyd Mellish, Helen (Doug) McLeod, Glenda (Barry) MacDonald, Darlene Mellish (Shawn Campbell), Scott Mellish, Charlie Mellish; stepmother Betty Mellish; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters Dianne Fraser and Heather Jenkins; brothers-in-law Penna Sanderson, Martin Sanderson, Lyman Jenkins; sister-in-law Marilyn Mellish, nephews Penna Sanderson and Tyler MacDonald.

No visitation by request. A grave side service will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the Union Road Cemetery. There will then be a reception to follow in the Fellowship Hall of the Montague Church of Christ. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
