Peacefully at the Dr. John M. Gillis Memorial Lodge, Eldon, of John Stuart Beaton, age 76, formerly of Murray Harbour, devoted husband of the late Janet (VanIderstine) Beaton, occurred on Thursday, January 29, 2015, with family by his side. Born in Flat River, August 16, 1938, he was the son of the late Fred and Annie (Stewart) Beaton. John is survived by his brothers and sisters, Malcolm, Mary (Les) Goodwin, Mellie (Vernon) Glover, Donald; special cousin Janice B. MacKay; several nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by a sister Joyce MacLeod and sister-in-law Irene Beaton.

Resting at Ferguson Logan Montague Funeral Home with visitation on Sunday, February 1, 2015, from 2 to 5 pm. Grave side service to take place in the Spring at Belle River Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Belle River Cemetery or the Gillis Lodge would be appreciated.
