At home with family, the passing of Shirley Jean Peterson 78 of Riverton, loving and devoted wife of 42 years to Leigh Peterson, occurred on Friday, January 27, 2023. Born in Midgell, January 29, 1944, daughter of the late Lloyd and Mildred (James) MacDonald. Survived by children, Roger (Donna) Crane, Brendon (Carol) Crane, Jason (Patricia) Shepard; sisters and brother, Elaine Baker, Beryl (Tony) Lutz, Eleanor (Joel) LaFleur, Allison (Sonya) MacDonald, Debbie (Dave) Gorveatt; cherished grandchildren, Travis Crane, Ellen (Andrew) Crane, Bennett Crane, Devan Gunn, Dustin (Diana) Gunn, Jacob (Gabrielle) Lava, Kimberley (Hunter) Lava; adored great grandchildren, Ryder Crane, Reina Peterson, Hector Gunn; sister-in-law, Ina Edgett; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by first husband, Bennett Crane; daughter Cindy Lava; grandson Tyler Crane; son-in-law Etienne Lava; brother-in-law Harold Peterson and niece Kimberley Bujosevich.


Resting at Ferguson Logan Montague Funeral Home with visiting on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service to be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 in the Funeral Home Chapel with live stream at 1:00 pm. Interment to take place in Lorne Valley Cemetery.
