Preston Daniel Richard Dewar, age 80, passed away suddenly on Friday, May 26, 2023. Born in Brudenell on March 18, 1943, he was the son of the late H.W. Beecher and Hazel Ruth (nee MacNeil) Dewar. Preston leaves behind his beloved wife Georgina Dewar (nee Dingwell); son Blair Dewar; brother Dr. Charles Dewar; Brothers-in-law Eddie Dingwell and Dennis Dingwell (Cindy); Sisters-in-law Flora Dewar and Betty Gallant; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and business partner Bill Nelson. Predeceased by Son Arnold Alexander Dewar in infancy; siblings Abner Dewar, Dr. Vera Dewar, infants Keith and Harvey Dewar.

Resting at Ferguson Logan Montague Funeral Home with visiting to take place on Sunday, May 28, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral service will be held at the Montague Christian Church on Monday, May 29, at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at the Brudenell Cemetery.
