*Gary's interment in Murray Harbour Cemetery will take place on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at 2:00 pm. Family and Friends are welcome to attend.

At the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Saturday, January 6, 2024, Gary Raymond Gormley of Murray Harbour passed away peacefully with his loving wife of 54 years, Audrey Gormley (nee Jamieson) by his side.  He was born on September 24, 1947, to parents Bruce and Emerentienne (Savoie) Gormley.

A commercial fisherman for his entire career, Gary loved anything to do with The Great Outdoors.   Gary was a man of great faith, and he found God not only in church, but on the water, in the woods, on the shore, and in his great love for his family and friends.

Left to mourn this wonderful man are his beloved wife Audrey, cherished children Tracy Jenkins (Billy), Dwayne Gormley, Evan Gormley, and Brad Gormley (Cara).  All of his grandchildren owned a huge piece of his heart,  Brea Walker, Dakota Llewellyn, Jamieson Jenkins, Maggie Gormley, Brock Gormley and Corbin Gormley will all miss his gentle guidance and love.  His siblings, Marilyn Kurnell and Ronnie Gormley, are now the keepers of his childhood memories.  His sister-in-law Trudy Condon, special aunt Ida Vreeling, and many nieces and nephews will all miss his presence dearly.

Predeceased by his parents, brother Ricky Gormley, parents-in-law Alfred and Mildred Jamieson, and infant sister Judy.

Resting at Ferguson Logan Montague Funeral Home with visiting hours on Monday, January 15, from 4 to 7 pm.  Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Tuesday, January 16, at St. Mary's Church, Montague, at 2 pm.  Interment to take place in the Murray Harbour Cemetery in the spring.

Donations to the Murray Harbour Fire Department or the Murray Harbour Cemetery Fund would be appreciated by the family.

~ The Fishermen ~
Surely Jesus loves fishermen for He chose them for His own,
To be with Him and learn from Him and someday share His home.
It must have been their trust in God and patience He found rare,
That keeps them very near His heart and ever in His care.
