The death occurred peacefully at Kings County Memorial Hospital on Sunday, May 5 , 2024 of Gary Donald Nielsen of Summerville, PEI, age 76. Born in Charlottetown, PEI the son of the late Julius "Duke" and Helen (Dennis) Nielsen. Survived by loving wife of 53 years Donna (Murphy), son Bobby (Janine), daughter Annie (Shawn Milligan), grandchildren Nathan, Allie and Maria Nielsen, mother-in-law Dorothy Murphy, and Aunt Olga McGee. Also survived by Sisters-in-law Faye,Lore-Lei (Alan), Judy; Brothers-in-law Phillip (Betty), Kerry (Janet), Stephen (Kari Anne) and George; step-brother Charlie Moore (Sabina) as well as several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by daughter Shelley, siblings Frederic, Winston "Dobbie", Myrna, father-in-law James "Jimmy" Murphy and stepmother Dorothy Nielsen.

Resting at Logan Ferguson funeral home in Montague with visitation on Tuesday May 7, 2024 from 4-7pm. Funeral mass on Wednesday May 8, 2024 at St. James Roman Catholic Church in Georgetown, PEI at 3pm. Interment at St Mary’s RC Cemetery, Montague PEI.
