It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Darren Merrill Wight, 58, of Sturgeon (formerly Lower Montague), on Monday July 6, 2026 at The Moncton Hospital.

Darren was the loving father of Dillan LeClair, Griffin Wight, and Tamara Wight, who were his pride and joy. We will forever cherish the memories we have of our fun-loving, goofy dad who always knew how to crack a joke to make you smile, even in the worst of times.

He will be lovingly remembered by sisters Michelle Wight and Sharon Ogawa, ex-wife Sherri Wight, as well as his extended family and friends.
Predeceased by parents Florence (Stewart) and Merrill Wight. 

Resting at Ferguson Logan Funeral Home with visiting hours on Thursday, July 9th, 2026 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral Service to take place in the funeral home chapel on Friday, July 10th, at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in the Lower Montague Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the PEI Humane Society.
