Peacefully on Friday, July 24, 2026, the passing of John Fredrick Acorn, age 80, of Cardigan, occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Born in Montague, on April 29, 1946, son of the late Chester and Ruth (MacDonald) Acorn. John is survived by his children Russell (Tanya), Lavana (Adam) Valen, Emma, Jason, Amanda (John), Elsie (Jessie); cherished grandchildren Shawna, Cameron, Ryan, Lexi, Russell, Ida; siblings Laura Dixon, Warren (Bev) Acorn, Kathryn Acorn;  mother of the children Janet Acorn; sisters-in-law Verna, and Irene Acorn.

Predeceased by brothers Sam and Jimmy Acorn.

Resting at Ferguson Logan Funeral Home with visiting hours on Thursday, July 30, 2026 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral Service to be held in the Ferguson Logan Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, July 31, 2026 at 11:00 am, interment to follow in the Dundas Acorn Cemetery.
