Jane (Jani) Ann Neish of Ogunquit, ME formerly of Pepperell, MA passed away on February 1st, 2023 at age 73 following a prolonged battle with breast cancer. Daughter of the late John W. and Rita M. (Seymour) Nugent of Hudson, MA. Jani was a graduate of Burdett College in Boston and worked at Digital for several years before meeting and marrying John (Jay) J. Neish of Arlington, MA. They were married in 1978 and were together over 45 years until her death.

While raising her two children, Jani took on the role of a teacher, homeschooling them until high-school at which point she returned to school herself, graduating with an associates degree in Technical Documentation from UMASS Lowell. She worked at Siemens as a Sr. Technical Writer as well as various other companies until her retirement.

Jani loved to travel and was especially fond of Bermuda, having gone there several times over the years. She also was able to visit Ireland in 2014 with her daughter Heather, achieving a lifelong dream. She was also very fond of her adopted home in White Sands, Prince Edward Island, splitting her time between Maine and PEI. Her family will always have fond memories of their road-trips out west to see the South Dakota Badlands and the beauty of the Rocky Mountains.

She loved opera and was a beautiful high soprano and shared her angelic voice in the church choirs she was a part of over the years. She gave generously of her time by teaching Vacation Bible School classes to the children in her church. She also showed her love for the younger generation when she drove her children and nieces to Cape Cod for vacations. She also had a passion for flower arrangements, making them for friends, the church and family events. She used the beautiful creative gifts that God bestowed on her, and by doing so, inspired her family with her legacy.

She never met a cat she didn't love. She would have stray cats "follow her home" from school all the time. Animals always trust the most gentle people.

She leaves behind her husband John, her daughter Heather and her husband Richard Palardy of South Berwick, ME and son Scott and his wife Lauren of Hudson, NH. She dearly loved her grandchildren Aislinn and Grant Palardy. She also leaves her brother Jim Nugent and his wife Nancy Fay-Nugent of Marlborough, MA, her nieces Patricia and her husband Paul Westpfal of Fayetteville, NY and Kathleen and her husband Alex Butterfield of Plaistow, NH. She was predeceased by both of her parents and her brother John (Jack) W. Nugent of Hudson, MA.

There will be a visitation Saturday, February 25, 2023 from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. Service at the Ferguson Logan Funeral Home Chapel in Montague, PE on February 25th at 2:00 pm with live stream, and she will be laid to rest in the Murray Harbour Cemetery in Prince Edward Island, Canada directly afterwards. A Stateside memorial service for friends and family will be scheduled for later this spring at the Cathedral of the Pines in NH.

Donations can be made in her memory to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
