With broken hearts, the passing of Shawn Hartlen in his 56 year, of Murray River, loving and caring husband of 19 years to Dreea MacKinnon, occurred on Tuesday, September 5, 2023. Born in Halifax, NS, October 11, 1967, son of Paul Hartlen and the late Elsie (Harnish) Hartlen. He leaves behind the loves of his life, his children, Gabe, Cohen & Finley; siblings, Paul (Jenn), Shelley (Gary), Nickie (Jeremy); brother-in-law, Chris (Steph); mother-in-law, Dianne MacKinnon and beloved father-in-law, Cyril MacKinnon (deceased); cherished nephews and nieces Cole, Cody, Christian, Cameron, Brady, Holden, Riley and Myla.  Aunts, uncles, cousins and so many amazing friends who were like his family!  Shawn cherished the many memories he built with his boys through their love of sports and had such immense pride for his one and only girl.


Resting at Ferguson Logan Montague Funeral Home with visiting on Saturday, September 9, 2023 from 3 to 6 pm. Funeral Service to be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at 3:00 pm. Interment to take place in the Murray River Cemetery at a later date.
