With broken hearts but with joy for a life well lived, the family of Donna Jean Blue of Hopefield wish to announce her passing at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Tuesday, March 26, 2024. Beloved wife of Alec Blue and most cherished mother of Charles (Suzi), Sarah (Chris Attewell), Emily, Mercedez and Jesse. Much loved Nana to Ava and Eli Blue, and their mother Jennifer; Roman and Ruthie Attewell. Donna was the eldest of eight children of Carrie and Ernest Hopkins(deceased), formerly of Alliston.  Survived by Richard (Laura); Kimberley MacDonald; Heather (Carl) Doucette; Deanna Hopkins; Coralie Hopkins and Wendy (Gerry) Foote, her godson Mathew Doucette and her beloved dog Tory. Predeceased by her infant brother Brian, and her two infant nephews, Brian MacDonald and Jamie Lee Foote.

Resting at the Ferguson Logan Funeral Home with visiting hours Friday, March 29, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral services to be held Saturday from the Wellspring Presbyterian Church at 11:00 am, with a reception to follow in the Church Hall. Interment in the Little Sands Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wellspring Presbyterian Church would be appreciated.

Donna’s life was devoted to the care of children. She was a Foster Parent to over 60 young children. She served in various capacities with the Prince Edward Island Federation of Foster Families and, with her involvement, brought many improvements to the Foster Care system on P.E.I. An ardent gardener, she served as an advisor and mentor to many friends and relatives. Donna struggled through a 6½ year battle with GIST cancer, never wavering in her hope that she would see another season and get back outdoors. She made a difference.
