Peacefully at the Dr. John M. Gillis Memorial Lodge, Eldon, the passing of Charles Johnson MacKenzie age 85, of Belfast. Devoted and loving husband to the late Auldene (Ross) MacKenzie, occurred on Wednesday, May 8, 2024.  Born in Garfield, July 4, 1938, son of the late Percy and Catherine (Morrison) MacKenzie. Survived by sons, Norman (Donna), Ross (Paula), Wade (Sherry), and John Murdoch; special friend Elizabeth (Issy) Hubley; sisters, Linda Dodds (Barry), Hazel Ford (Joey deceased); brother Thomas (Dora deceased); brother-in-law Marvin Ross (Maureen deceased); grandchildren, Mark, Kris, Stephen (Jana), Leanne (Curtis), Katie, Cameron, Billy, Andrew; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Predeceased by sisters, Marion Gay, Margaret Melanson, Florence MacKinnon, Betty MacKenzie, Helen Crocker; brothers-in-law, Donnie Ross and Orvid Ross (Donalda).

Resting at Ferguson Logan Montague Funeral Home with visiting on Sunday, May 12 from 4 to 6 pm. Funeral Service to be held on Monday, May 13, 2024 at 11:00 am, from St. John’s Presbyterian Church, Belfast. Interment to follow in the Church Cemetery.
